Voice, Guitar, Piano, and Songwriting Lessons!

I specialize in liberating your natural voice, folk-style guitar, piano and songwriting. Adults and kids 8+ are welcome! See below for details.

Adult Voice or Songwriting lessons are $70 per lesson, once a week. There is a discount of $225 a month for ongoing students. Each lesson 1 hour.

Adult Guitar, Piano, or General Music lessons are $60 per lesson, once a week. There is a discount of $200 a month for ongoing students. Each lesson 1 hour.

All Kids’ lessons are $35 per lesson, once a week. There is a discount of $100 a month for ongoing students. Each lesson 30 minutes. (Note: Voice lessons for kids begin at age 10.)

  • Regular, sustained practice is essential - There's simply no way around it--the difference between those who feel rewarded and those who are frustrated in music is that those who practice consistently see consistent progress. If you're ready to commit to at least 15 minutes a day of practice (or 30 minutes every other day) then this is the place for you! 
  • Please be on time for lessons - We get a small chunk of time together every week, but it goes by in a blink and there's a lot to cover. I recommend arriving 5 minutes early and stretching or warming up until your lesson time.
  • Payment is like a subscription - Bulk lessons payments are due on the first of the month. This fee retains my services for the month, and is not tied to the number of lessons. We make an intention to have a lesson every week, and to make up missed lessons, but sometimes that is impossible. See more details under "Cancellations". 
  • Cancellations - I understand that things happen, people get sick, etc. Life gets crazy sometimes! In the event that you or I need to cancel a lesson, I will make every effort to make it up on another day. In the unlikely event that a suitable makeup date cannot be found that month, the lesson is skipped. This does not affect the monthly fee. If two or more lessons are skipped, I WILL prorate the fee.
  • Location - I teach all kinds of lessons from my home in NE Portland, OR. Zoom lessons are available for guitar, songwriting, and general music lessons only.
